Happy New Year!

Haven't been back in a while, but it's been a busy couple of months. I LOVE the holidays, but it takes a lot of my energy!

Christmas was relaxing and wonderful. Matthew gave me a beautiful camera. It's a Nikon D70. I think he's trying to encourage my photography bug - and maybe it will become a new career for me, we'll see. I am not quitting my day-job yet.
Matt's mom gave me the Deluxe Scrabble Edition with turntable (so we don't have to worry about the tiles moving on the board when we rotate it anymore). ROCK ON! I love Scrabble! In good holiday tradition, we played a family game, and I won! Seriously, if it wasn't for the (if you use all your tiles, you get the points of the other players leftover tiles) rule, then I wouldn't have won - Cindy would have. She's so smart, keeps us on our toes!

Work sux as usual. Supposedly we are in a year-end Change Freeze, but at the rate we've been stuck on "bridges" - you'd never know it. One of my New Year's Resolutions is to just get a new job already! Working on that, I will let ya know how that works out. No fun working the holiday season, if it's triple the workload. I mean COME ON, nobody is in the office to help, and then we get SWAMPED. Blah!

Sport was so cute last night. He sat still enough that I could take a low-light shot of him with the new camera - you know where the click-click takes about 8 seconds? anyway, it was really spiffy. Once we master this new camera, expect some glorious photos!

The upcoming weekend will hopefully be quiet. I'm not on-call, so thinking of just turning off my damn pager. We are planning to take the camera on a photoshoot. Bummer! It's supposed to rain, so maybe we won't. Depends how things go. I was thinking of turning the basement into a lovely studio, so we'll see.

Matthew and I have reservations for New Year's Eve at Plaka Taverna this year. It's a lovely Greek place, that we haven't been to yet, but it came highly recommended. I'm just ready to have a romantic evening with my sexy husband and ring in the new year in style!
